iNdex POS licence terms
Last updated 5 October 2026
These terms (the end-user licence agreement) apply to iNdex POS — the till app, the iNdex Admin and Times apps, the admin website at pos.indextech.co.za and the iNdex POS servers — provided by iNdex Tech Solutions ("iNdex Tech", "we"). By creating an account or using iNdex POS, the business ("you") agrees to them. Our general website terms also apply.
1. Licence
We give you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use iNdex POS for your own business while your account is active (on the free trial or a paid plan). You may not copy, resell, reverse-engineer or use iNdex POS to build a competing product, or use it for anything unlawful.
2. Your account and staff
You are responsible for the people you give access to, for keeping passwords and PINs private, and for the accuracy of the prices, VAT settings and other information you enter. Tell us at once if you think your account has been misused.
3. Your data
Your sales, stock, staff and customer records belong to you. We process them to provide the service, as set out in the iNdex POS privacy notice. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to record your staff's and customers' information, including their consent for WhatsApp messages and credit reminders. You can ask for an export of your records at any time.
4. Plans, trial and fees
The free trial and plan limits are shown on our pricing page and in the app. Fees are payable as agreed; if they are not paid we may limit the account to read-only after giving notice. Fees exclude VAT where VAT applies.
5. Connected services (including QuickBooks Online)
iNdex POS can connect to services run by other companies, such as Intuit QuickBooks Online, WhatsApp, payment providers and receipt printers. You connect them by choice, under those companies' own terms, and can disconnect them at any time. For QuickBooks Online:
- iNdex POS posts daily sales and refund summaries by payment method and VAT rate, invoices and payments for customer accounts, and cash-up differences to the QuickBooks company you connect, from the day you connect.
- Postings follow the VAT codes and accounts chosen on the QuickBooks page. You (or your accountant) remain responsible for your books, VAT returns and tax submissions and should review what is posted; iNdex POS is not an accountant and does not give tax advice.
- Intuit and QuickBooks are trademarks of Intuit Inc. iNdex POS is not made or endorsed by Intuit, and Intuit is not responsible for iNdex POS.
6. Availability and changes
We work to keep iNdex POS available and the tills keep selling without internet, syncing when they are back online. We may need short interruptions for maintenance and we improve iNdex POS regularly; we will tell you in advance about changes that materially reduce what you can do.
7. Limitation of liability
iNdex POS is provided with reasonable care and skill. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss (such as lost profit or lost data caused by your devices or connection), and our total liability in any 12 months is limited to the fees you paid us in that period. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act where it applies.
8. Ending the agreement
You may stop using iNdex POS and close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or is used unlawfully, after notice where reasonable. On closing, you can request an export of your records within 30 days; records are then kept only as the law requires.
9. Law and contact
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa. Questions: pos@indextech.co.za · 021 569 4997 · iNdex Tech Solutions, Cape Town, South Africa.
