Choose the class, tap Mark all present and change the exceptions. Each learner is Present, Absent, Late, Excused or Public holiday. Children already signed in at the door arrive on the list as present.

Issue achievement, school-readiness, graduation, attendance and participation certificates as PDFs. Each one carries a number and a QR code. Scan it, or type the number in, to see that the school issued it and hasn't withdrawn it.

Most school software stops when the Wi-Fi does. Genius Sync was built for African mornings. Your school can run its own little server on a Windows PC or an Android phone, and the whole team keeps working on it.

  • Every device keeps a queue

    Attendance, assessments, lesson records and door-register sign-ins are queued on the device and sent when the connection returns. A repeated send is never recorded twice.

  • A hub on your own network

    Pair a Windows PC or Android phone with a connection code and it becomes the School Hub. Teachers connect over the local Wi-Fi. The phone hub can even start its own school Wi-Fi with one tap, no router needed.

  • Syncs itself when the internet is back

    The hub sends its changes to the cloud and brings the cloud's changes back automatically. The few online-only tasks, like invoicing, emails and uploads, wait for the cloud and say so clearly.

Security & POPIA

Learners' information, held with care

Your school holds personal information about learners and their families. Genius Sync gives you the controls that support your responsibilities under POPIA.

Role-based access

Separate roles for educators, accountants, centre and school administrators, parents and learners. Nobody can grant a role above their own.

Each school kept separate

Every request is tied to the school in the user's signed sign-in token, never to a school named in the request, so one school can't reach another's data.

Learner logins locked down

A learner's login can only reach an approved list of learner screens. The learner portal doesn't even contain the staff app's code.

Private documents

Identity papers are stored without public links and are only served to signed-in staff.

Audit log

Key changes are written to an activity log for school administrators, including each time someone opens a learner's document.

Strong sign-in protection

Passwords are hashed with BCrypt, accounts lock for 15 minutes after 5 failed attempts, and sign-ins are rate-limited.

Questions school owners ask

Who is Genius Sync for?

Genius Sync is for schools, ECD centres, crèches and pre-schools across Africa, from a single site to a school group running several centres. It was built first for the early years, so class levels today run from Toddlers to Grade RRR. Primary and high school levels (Grade 1 to 12) are coming.

Does Genius Sync work without internet?

Yes. The apps queue everyday changes such as attendance, assessments, lesson records and door-register sign-ins and send them when the connection returns. A school can also run a School Hub on its own Windows PC or Android phone, so everyone keeps working over the local Wi-Fi and the hub syncs with the cloud when it can. Invoicing, emails and uploads wait for the cloud.

Which devices does Genius Sync run on?

Staff use Genius Sync in a web browser, in the Android app or in the Windows app. Learners have their own separate portal for shared classroom devices, where they see their lessons, attendance and report card and answer exercises.

How are parents kept informed?

Genius Sync emails the guardian on record when a learner is marked absent, when a fee invoice reaches 7, 14 and 30 days overdue, and when a report card is generated with the email option on. Parents do not need to log in to anything.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Registering your school online starts a 14-day free trial with every feature, including lesson intelligence, and no card is needed. To move to a paid plan, an administrator requests it in Settings and the Genius Sync team confirms it with you.

Can we bring in our existing class lists?

Yes. The class-list import previews every row before anything is saved and skips learners already at the centre with the same name and date of birth, so importing the same list twice is safe.

How are learners' documents protected?

Birth certificates, clinic cards, guardian IDs and other papers are stored privately with no public link. They are only served to signed-in staff, and every time one is opened it is written to the school's activity log.
